Hawaii completes it’s largest wastewater tunnelling project

In June 2016 boring was completed on Hawaii’s largest ever wastewater tunnelling project, which has been designed to increase storage capacity of the region’s wastewater system and reduce the likelihood of overflow. The project also marks the first time in Hawaii’s history that a tunnel boring machine (TBM) has been used to excavate a wastewater tunnel.
