Fyfe Company system rehabs water pipeline

Fyfe Company’s Tyfo Fibrwrap system was employed in San Diego, California to rehabilitate sections of two major water pipelines.

San Diego County Water Authority identified the need to rehabilitate sections of the pipeline while executing its strategy to make major investments in the region’s water delivery system.

With one location leaking and the other significantly stressed, Fibrwrap Construction Services was engaged in April to employ the Tyfo Fibrwrap system to provide a swift repair without excavating the pipeline.

Tyfo Fibrwrap systems are specialised carbon, glass, aramid and hybrid fabrics combined with polymers that are engineered, specified and installed to solve structural deficiency issues.

Despite a heightened level of safety requirements resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Fibrwrap Construction was able to rapidly execute all works without incident.

Fyfe Company and Fibrwrap Construction are both a part of the Aegion Corporation.
