ASTT has introduced its own scholarship program designed to foster the knowledge and application of trenchless technology within Australasia.
Engaging with the organisations and representatives who make decisions on the rehabilitation and installation of underground infrastructure on the benefits of trenchless technology is vital to the future development of the industry within the jurisdiction of the Australasian Society for Trenchless Technology (ASTT). It is fitting then, that the introduction of this scholarship program has coincides with No-Dig Down Under 2019, which is focused on the theme of “Engaging beneath the surface”.
Taking place in Melbourne, Australia from 10 to 13 of September, No-Dig Down Under includes a three-track technical program, training courses on trenchless topics, social functions and the largest trade exhibition in the event’s history. Organised by Great Southern Press, the publisher of Trenchless International, No-Dig Down Under has grown to be one of the largest dedicated trenchless technology events in the world, recognised globally as a leading forum for the discussion of the latest international developments.
Facilitating attendance of key industry members
The scholarships will allow key members of Australasian utilities and councils to attend the event with reduced costs, and aim to bring more employees from these organisations to the event, thereby increasing the knowledge of trenchless technology.
In total, 10 scholarships are being presented: five to utility or council representatives based within the state of Victoria, of which Melbourne is the capital, and an additional five to representatives from outside the state, including New Zealand and Australian cities such as Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Recipients will include complimentary conference registration, while ASTT while also provide accommodation for those from outside Victoria.
The registrations include access to No-Dig Down Under’s conference and exhibition, as well as attendance at the event’s social functions, including the prestigious Gala Dinner and Awards Evening, which features the presentation of the ASTT Awards.
