The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has released a report promoting greater understanding of subsurface utility engineering (SUE).
SUE incorporates existing and emerging technology to identify, characterise and map underground facilities throughout the project development process.
ASCE published Subsurface Utility Engineering for Municipalities: Prequalification Criteria and Scope of Work Guide – a resource for understanding SUE and bringing current practices to the application for public works projects.
The publication also includes chapters on consultant prequalification criteria and a checklist of scoping items that affect cost and scheduling.
Customers can purchase the book via the ASCE bookstore.
