The ISTT’s International No-Dig South Africa 2018 has released the conference program for the event, which will take place in Cape Town, South Africa on 8–9 October.
The 36th Annual International No-Dig Conference and Exhibition will be hosted by the Southern African Society for Trenchless Technology (SASTT) and offer underground operations experts from around the world to exchange ideas, attend technical sessions, as well as to visit exhibits showcasing the latest trenchless products, services and technology.
The two-track program will run across two days, with the opening ceremony on Monday 8 October featuring a paper presentation on ‘Unlocking economic growth in South Africa through the use of trenchless technology’.
After the opening ceremony, Track A and Track B will each comprise three sessions, taking place before the Gala Dinner.
In Track A, Session 1 will focus on drilling fluids; Session 2 on pipe bursting, auger boring and pilot tube; and Session 3 on microtunnelling and pipe jacking.
Track B, Session 1 will focus on rehabilitation, while Session 2 and 3 will cover asset management.
On Tuesday, the second day of the program will offer delegates six further sessions, once again over two tracks.
Track A, Session 4 will cover utility management, Session 5 will feature horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and Session 6 will cover a second microtunnelling and pipe jacking focus.
In Track B, delegates will have the opportunity to attend Sessions 4 and 5, which will provide an in-depth look at rehabilitation, while Session 6 will cover asset management.
These sessions will be presented and moderated by a number of notable experts in field, including ISTT Past Chair and co-author of the HDD Good Practices Guidelines and the Pipe Bursting Good Practices Dr Samuel Ariaratnam, United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology Chair and TRACTO-TECHNIK UK Business Development Director Matthew Izzard, and ISTT Chair and IDS GeoRadar North America President Enrico Boi.
