Trenchless Romania highlights no-dig
The third edition of Trenchless Romania Conference and Exhibition highlighted no-dig technologies when it was held in Bucharest on 13 June 2018.
The event brought together technology and equipment manufacturers and distributors dedicated to the no-dig sector, including horizontal directional drilling (HDD), pipe jacking, pipe bursting, microtunnelling, cured-in-place pipe and other trenchless solutions.
The conference and exhibition was supported by the German Society for Trenchless Technology (GSTT), Romanian Society for Trenchless Technology and Austrian Association for Trenchless Technology, as well as several event partners from within the industry.
This year, more than 195 people participated in the event, with 16 event partners, 16 exhibitors, 3 panel sessions featuring 17 presentations, and the Trenchless Romania Award Ceremony.

“I bring you greetings from the GSTT, where our main goal is to promote trenchless technologies not only in our country but also in other countries and worldwide.

“We all wish that this show to be successful and become a landmark of trenchless awareness in the region.”
The event featured the second presentation of the Trenchless Romania Awards which recognise achievements in no-dig projects in the region.
This year, Anese srl was the recipient of the International Project Award for its work on Project Mose, which used Trenchless Technology to install two 4,750 m parallel pipelines containing optic fibre under the Venice lagoon to connect Arsenale to Isola Nuova.
Raedlinger Primus Line earned the Trenchless Pipe Rehabilitation Award for its Kevlar reinforced lining system for high-pressure pipelines, the Primus Liner®.
The award for Outstanding Contribution to Trenchless Technology in Eastern Europe, which recognises the people behind the projects, was awarded to Herrenknecht Senior Area Sales Manager Dymitr Petrow- Ganew.
Romned Industrial Foundation/Vermeer Romania General Manager Ron Van Dam was awarded a special diploma for his continuous efforts to organise training for drilling specialists with in the HDD university.
Dr Beyer – who has been a key figure during each edition of Trenchless Romania – accepted a special award on behalf of the GSTT, which recognised the organisations support and dedication to promoting Trenchless Technology in Eastern Europe.
