Trenchless Asia releases conference program

Trenchless Asia has released a conference program for the event taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia on 7–8 May 2018.

The 10th Trenchless Asia Exhibition and Conference, supported by the International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT), is returning to Kuala Lumpur, and will provide the international community with a forum for comprehensive and up-to-date discussions on Trenchless Technology.

The conference program runs across the two-day event and will feature nine sessions; the first four sessions will take place on Monday 7 May before the drinks reception, while the other five sessions will take place on Tuesday 8 May.

Session 1 will feature a welcoming address and opening remarks by ISTT Chairman Enrico Boi and a keynote address by Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Deputy Secretary General Dr Tan Yew Chong.

Session 2 will feature presentations on trenchless innovations from Germany, pipeline condition assessment and case histories on assessment methods by worldwide industry specialists oncluding IBAK/Syntech and Electroscan.

Session 3 will feature a presentation by ISTT Past President Dr Dec Downey on pipeline rehabilitation methods and design.

Session 4 will feature case histories by worldwide industry specialists including Sekisui, Aegion, RELINEEUROPE, Impreg, Karl Weiss and more.

Session 5 will feature a keynote address by Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd COO Ir Mohammed Haniffa Hj Adbul Hamid covering the paradigm shift in applications of trenchless technology in sewerage projects in Malaysia.

Session 6 will feature a presentation by ISTT Past Chairman and Arizona State University Professor Sam Ariaratnam on the geotechnical assessment and methods for new construction.

Session 7 will feature microtunnelling case studies, including Herrenknecht, Bohrtec and mts Perforator.

Session 8 will feature a range of horizontal directional drilling case studies, and presentations on the newest solutions for passive interference and integrating GPS into the current data logging mapping system.

Session 9 will feature a themed discussion, which is still to be decided, and a selection of speakers for a Q&A session.

Throughout the event there will be breaks for food and refreshments, during which attendees may also visit the exhibition.
