Turkish water utility, the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration, has recently announced a very important microtunnelling tender for a water transmission tunnel project in Turkey.
Announced 10 April 2015, the tender is for a 4 m diameter potable water transmission tunnel, which will be constructed on the European side of Istanbul using a microtunnelling machine.
A 3 m diameter steel pipeline will then be installed within this water transmission tunnel. The total length of the project is 15.4 km.
The prequalification meeting for the tender will be held 29 April 2015, at 9.30 am local time in Istanbul.
The tender is open for both local and international companies possessing the necessary qualifications.
The Turkish Society for Infrastructure and Trenchless Technologies (TSITT) has offered assistance for all international companies interested in the project, including contractors and suppliers.
Turkey’s capital city is a hive of trenchless activity this year. From 28-30 September 2015, Istanbul will host the International Society for Trenchless Technology’s International No-Dig Conference and Exhibition at the WOW Istanbul Convention Center.
