The project was executed in two construction sections:

  • APC Road – rehabilitation length was 4.6 km with an egg-shaped profile of 750/1,120 to 2,000/2,610 mm. 104 manholes and three splitters were rehabilitated.
  • Kolutola Street – rehabilitation length was approximately 2 km with an egg-shaped profile of 1,780/2,310 mm. In addition, 48 manholes were rehabilitated.

Angerlehner Hoch- und Tiefbau Gesellschaft mbH has also been awarded a contract of KMC ‘Up-Gradation of Non-Man-Entry Brick Sewers Phase I.’

The project will commence in March 2011, with a construction period of 9 months.

Angerlehner said “Our teams have been working together with local partners and subcontractors for more than six years already and are familiar to the local conditions and challenges in India.”

Scope of the work includes de-silting works as well as CCTV and non man entry surveys to study the actual condition of the sewer.

The brick sewers, which are located under streets with high volume of traffic, have a diameter between 600–1,050 mm in circular profile and 1,050/700 mm – 1,425/600 mm in egg-shaped profile.
