A 6.3 metre EPBM will bore the first ever TBM-driven tunnel in Azerbaijan for the Samur-Apsheron Irrigation Project, part of a plan to rebuild the main canal, which provides the majority of water supplies to the capital city of Baku.
Contractor Azerkorpu awarded Robbins the complete contract. The project consists of open canals and three TBM-driven tunnels totaling 5.7 km in length.
