The company has commenced a £1.7 million repair project in Buxton that aims to prevent blockages and collapses in the sewer system, which have lead to flooding issues in the past. The work entails renewing over 3 km of old Victorian sewer systems across parts of the town.

Severn Trent Project Manager Michael Burden said preliminary work has been conducted over the past two months to improve manhole access, and anticipates work will take five months to complete.

Another project is being undertaken by the company to upgrade a stretch of water mains in Lenchwick, near Evesham. The brittle, 35-year-old PVC mains are being replaced due to being prone to leakages.

Severn Trent has contracted Morgan Sindall to help carry out the work.

In Fillongley, Severn Trent has begun another project upgrading a stretch of water mains. Contractors Morgan Sindal will also help carry out the work, which entails replacing 425 m of 60-year-old cement water main along the Meriden Road and Wall Hill Road. Work is expected to continue into October.

Improvements have commenced to the water mains along Tolladine Road and The Fairway in Worcester. Severn Trent’s contractors, Morgan Sindall, are helping carry out the work to replace 975 m of 30-year-old water main. The pipes being replaced are prone to leaks which can, in extreme cases, disrupt service to customers.

Severn Trent will soon commence replacing approximately 3 km of 60-year-old iron water mains along Bisley Road, Bisley.

Severn Trent’s contractors, Morgan Sindall, are helping carry out the work which will run between the junction with Fennels Home Farm, Calfway and Stroud Road.
