The project will involve the upgrading of 1.6 miles of old watermains which will help reduce the risk of pipes bursting and loss of supply to customers.

Stretches of existing watermains, which are made mainly of cast iron, will be replaced with new plastic pipes which are less susceptible to bursts.

The project will be carried out by contractors George Leslie for Scottish Water and is expected to be completed in about 10 weeks.

The work will be carried out in Maryhill Road, Napiershall Street, North Woodside Road, a short stretch of Great Western Road and a number of adjacent streets including Raeberry Street and Henderson Street.
