The City of Dover, located in Delaware, US, has successfully relined a sewer main on Division Street.
The project was undertaken to repair cracks and fractures in the existing sewer line which allows unwanted surface and groundwater to indirectly enter into the sewer main.
In addition to repairing cracks in the sewer line, relining the existing main will also improve the structural integrity of the line and increase the available capacity.
In 2006, the city conducted an extensive video inspection and smoke testing of the existing sewer mains within Division Street and the downtown areas of the city to determine which sections of existing sewer main are in need of relining. Based upon this analysis the sewer main on Division Street was selected for improvement.
