Joe was an active member of the organisation since its inception in 1990. Recognised as one of NASTT’s seven charter members, he also served on its Board of Directors from 2003 to 2007. Following his years of service, he continued to be involved at a high level. Joe was a regular exhibitor and supporter at NASTT’s annual No-Dig Shows.

Joining the Godwin Pumps team in 1989, Joe brought sales and manufacturing expertise to the company from the sewer rehabilitation industry.

In the ensuing 20 years, he was the primary sales contact with consulting engineers, working on hundreds of large and small bypass operations – from 100,000 GPM to 300 MGD – pumping process sewers as well as municipal treatment plants, pump stations and sewer systems. In addition, Joe helped build Godwin’s distribution network throughout the United States and Canada, managed product pricing and oversaw bids. He also had many speaking engagements at trade functions throughout North America.

A resident of Radnor, Pennsylvania, US, Joe received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia. He served as a member of NASSCO for more than 20 years, also as a Director. He was also a member of the American Rental Association, the National Mining Association, the Water Environment Federation and the National Utilities Contractors Association.

Those who knew Joe will remember fondly his enthusiasm and passion for growing the trenchless industry. He was a good friend and will be deeply missed by the NASTT family and the entire trenchless community.

Joe Abbott is survived by his wife and their three children.
