Following approval from the Israeli economic cabinet, Mekorat is poised to sign a $US110 million contract with Trinidad and Tobago’s Water & Sewerage Authority (WASA). In a joint venture with Israel’s Merhav Group, Mekorat will be responsible for the design, engineering, procurement and construction work on this rehabilitation project. The upgrades will be financed by WASA, who will also maintain overall responsibility for the development.

Mekorat Vice President for Business Development Lior Frumkes said that the contract will focus on expanding the islands’ water distribution network and upgrading the existing reticulation system to reduce non-revenue water.
