The investment has improved water service levels for more than 9,800 families in the area.

After the recent completion of the project, water supply availability in Navotas City increased from 18 hours to 24 hours.

The pipe replacement project will recover around 16 million litres of water per day, which is enough to supply the daily requirement of 16,000 households.

Maynilad Water has also invested in a CCTV acoustic leak detection system, from the United Kingdom, to bring down water loss in the area.

The JD7 LDS2010 'Investigator' system enables pressurised pipe inspections of 400 mm and smaller diameter of pipes without interrupting water service.

Aside from detecting leaks without interrupting services, the system lessens traffic obstruction by minimising road excavations necessary to check the pipes.

The system helps detect the location of the leak from the surface and marks it for repair. It also enables overall pipe condition assessment, which will help trace illegal connections, unknown pipes, and possible sources of water quality issues.
