We launched a new, state-of-the-art website, which we believe will raise the profile of Trenchless Technology. Vice Chairman Derek Choi, Executive Subcommittee member Enrico Boi, Membership Secretary Kyoko Kondo and I spent many hours collectively defining and refining the website’s appearance and content. I wish to thanks Derek and Enrico in particular for volunteering so much of their time in helping to put the site together. I also want to thank Emanuela Carcangiu, the graphic designer and manger of this project for the web design firm Pavoneggi, for her patience and quick turn-around of our many requests for changes. I believe the newly launched website will quickly become the ‘go-to’ website for those interested in Trenchless Technology.

The ISTT website has many new features that should be attractive to ISTT members and the trenchless industry at large. The new website has a members’ only section that provides special access to certain content including free downloads of trenchless reports and papers. It also features a totally new section that describes the characteristic and attributes of more than 30 trenchless technologies. The aim of this section is to attract potential trenchless users by showing the range, scope and benefits of trenchless applications that may be used to install and rehabilitate underground utilities.

Indeed, trenchless education and information were themes that helped guide the development of the new website. The new website has elevated the promotion of Affiliated Society educational activities by prominently displaying upcoming society events on the home page. The site will eventually have a number of videos on trenchless that can be viewed by a click of the mouse as well as a store for purchasing publications and other items.

I am delighted with the new website and believe it will be a real plus to the ISTT membership and trenchless community. Maintaining a first class website is work. Content must be kept current, mistakes eliminated and new featured regularly added such as trenchless videos. We ask for your assistance.
