The project saw contractors Drain King reline the 22 feet of 3 inch drain using Perma-Liner Industries. Acidity from various restaurant waste products, such as coffee and soft drinks, had caused almost half the pipe to begin to rot. The first foot of pipe was so badly deteriorated that it was necessary to replace it with a PVC pipe.
As the Perma-Liner system requires only one entry point works were completed via an 18 inch 2 by 5 inch access hole. Once the Perma-Liner was prepared in the air inversion tank, it was shot in the calibration tube and inflated to 15 psi to force the liner against the walls. The pressure remained there for three and a half hours.
Works began at 11.30 at night and the relining was completed by 5.10am the following morning ready for the chefs to begin work at 9am on the restaurant’s undisturbed imported Italian marble floor.
