At present, China is the largest market for Trenchless Technology, with large gas and oil transmission pipeline projects under construction and 100,000 km of municipal pipelines newly installed each year. In addition, 300,000 km of municipal pipelines need to be rehabilitated urgently. There are more and more related international organisations and companies paying more attention to the pipeline and Trenchless Technology market in China.

The US Joint Centre for Trenchless Research and Development (CTRD), American Society of Civil Engineers-Pipeline Division (ASCE), Centre for Underground Infrastructure Research and Education (CUIRE)-UTA, Geo-Technical Engineering Research Centre, China Ministry of Education, and China University of Geosciences (Beijing) will co-sponsor the International Conference on Pipelines and Trenchless Technology (ICPTT) 2011. Trenchless International is also happy to announce itself as a supporter of the event.

With the success of the ICPTT 2009, the organiser expects that ICPTT 2011 will draw more than 500 participants, and more than 1,000 visitors will attend the conference.

This year, ISTT Chairman Dr Sam Ariaratnam will be a VIP guest at the conference, along with other great knowledgeable academic and industry speakers.

The conference will have three streams for the technical program – gas/oil pipelines and storage, Trenchless Technology and rehabilitation, and municipal infrastructure planning assessment and design.

Venue

ICPTT will be held at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC), which officially opened in October 2009.

The Centre was an important element in the overall plan for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games when it served as the main press centre and international broadcasting location. CNCC is ideally located in the heart of the Olympic Green adjacent to the National Stadium (Bird Nest), the National Aquatics Centre (Water Cube) and the National Indoor Stadium – all of which are great places to go and see while in town for the conference.

Don’t miss the ITTRC

The 13th International Trenchless Technology Research Colloquium (ITTRC) will run in conjunction with ICPTT and will be held from October 24–26 in Beijing, China.

Dr Baosong Ma from the China University of Geosciences-Wuhan will be hosting the ITTRC in Beijing immediately prior to the ICPTT. Any university academic who submitted a paper to the ICPTT conference will be provided with complimentary registration and accommodations. This offer is extended only to the academic community

Still exhibition space left!

Do you currently work in China or do you want to break into this rapidly growing market? Then ICPTT is an ideal event for you!
