Michels invited three well known pipe coating companies to demonstrate and test the difference and quality between fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) and liquid polymer.
Pipeline Induction Heat Ltd, Commercial Resins Technical Services and Commercial Coating Services International were each given three days to test the different application methods and products. Leading EBE manufacturer products were tested, including 3M, Valspar, Dupont, Denso, Akzo Nobel and Specialty Polymer Coatings.
With the commitment from Michels employees Ray Peplinski, Scott Hicks, Shawn Kampschroer, Mitch Hessel and Mike Schaefer, the workshop was a success. Support was also given from Brownsville Shop employees Mike Haase, Rick Cowles and Tyler Thiel.
