District Governor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev opened the conference by pointing out that Plovdiv will host a second conference on Trenchless Technology.
Prime Minister Boiko Borisov greeted delegates by emphasising that there is much work to be done in the water supply and sewerage sector, and a forum like the present one may only contribute to better final results.
“I congratulate the Bulgarian Association for Trenchless Technology (BATT) on the idea to organise and hold the first Balkan conference on trenchless technologies. I am convinced that we lay the beginning of the professional contacts aiming at the application of the modern technologies in the water sector not only in our country but also in the region,” the Prime Minister said.
In his speech the Chairman of BATT, Stefan Zhelyazkov expressed his belief that trenchless, with its proven advantages, will find wider application in Bulgaria and in the region.
